Terms of Service
Last updated: October 8, 2026
1. Accepting these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Danijel Dordevic (DordevTech), Switzerland ("we", "us"), for the Plyplan app on iOS, Android and the web, and for plyplan.com. Installing or using Plyplan means you accept them. If you do not, do not use it.
2. What Plyplan is
Plyplan takes a list of parts and arranges them on plywood sheets and lumber boards. It produces cutting diagrams, a cutting order with the fence setting for each cut, a shopping list with a cost estimate, and a waste figure.
The optimizer runs on your device, so planning works offline and keeps working if our servers do not. Only sync, sign-in and purchases need a connection.
3. Cutting plans are a plan, not a guarantee
Read this one. Plyplan computes a layout from the numbers you give it. It does not know your material, your machine or your workshop, and it cannot check any of them.
- Sheet and board sizes vary from their nominal dimensions. Measure your actual stock.
- The kerf you set has to match the blade you will use. A wrong kerf makes parts that do not fit.
- Grain direction, defects, factory edges and squareness are yours to judge. The app does not see them.
- Measure twice before every cut, and check the diagram against the piece in front of you.
Woodworking machinery is dangerous. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and your local safety rules; they override anything the app suggests. We are not liable for wasted material, wasted time, damaged tools or injury arising from a cut you make. You are responsible for the work.
4. Your account
You can plan, lay out, cut and buy in the App Store or Google Play without an account. A Project Pass bought without an account stays on that device and cannot be restored if you delete the app. Syncing projects, using purchases on other devices and buying in the web app need an account: sign in with Apple (iOS), Google, or an email address and password. Purchases and synced projects belong to that account, so they follow you to another device and to the web app. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete the account in the app at any time (Settings → Delete account). We may close an account used to attack or overload the service. See the Privacy Policy for what an account holds.
5. The free plan and what you can buy
The free plan lets you enter as many parts, sheets and boards as you like, and gives you the diagrams and the shopping list. It keeps one saved project, and cut mode and the PDF cover the first sheet or board.
There are two one-time purchases. Neither is a subscription and neither renews:
- Project Pass unlocks everything for 7 days from the purchase, then stops on its own. You can buy it again.
- Shop Lifetime unlocks everything permanently, in the store you bought it in.
The price is whatever the App Store, Google Play or Stripe Checkout shows you, including any tax they collect. The two purchases are sold in the iOS and Android apps and in the web app at plyplan.com/app; signed in with the same account, a purchase counts everywhere.
These limits are part of the app, so changing them takes a new version in the stores. A change never takes away something you have already paid for.
6. Payment, restore and refunds
In the apps, Apple and Google take the payment, issue the receipt and own the relationship with you as the seller. On the web, Stripe does the same as merchant of record through Stripe Checkout. We never handle your card or see your payment details.
Restore reads your purchase back into the account you signed in with, so a reinstall, a new device or a factory reset does not cost you anything, as long as you sign in with the same Plyplan account. A Shop Lifetime bought in one store can be restored only from that store, into whichever Plyplan account you sign in with. A web purchase belongs to the account you bought it with and needs no restore.
Refunds for app purchases are granted by the store, not by us. We cannot issue one, reverse one or see whether you have asked for one. Use reportaproblem.apple.com or Google Play's refund process. For a web purchase, write to [email protected] and the refund goes back through Stripe. A refunded purchase stops counting. Any statutory right of withdrawal you have as a consumer is unaffected and is exercised through the store or, for a web purchase, through us.
7. Your projects, and your backups
Your projects are yours. We claim no rights over them. If you sync them, we store them only to keep your devices in step, and we do not look at, analyse or share them.
Without an account we hold no copy and cannot recover anything for you. If you delete the app, lose the device or wipe it, whatever was only on that device is gone, unless your phone's own backup (iCloud Backup, Android Auto Backup) restores it. Signed in, your projects come back on any device you sign in on, until you delete them or the account. Sync is a convenience, not a backup service: export what matters as a PDF if losing it would bother you.
8. How you may use it
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Plyplan, in a hobby workshop or a commercial one. You may sell what you build with it; we want no share of it.
You may not:
- Copy, resell, sublicense or redistribute the app itself
- Reverse engineer, decompile or extract the optimizer, except where law allows it regardless of this clause
- Work around the purchase check or the free plan's limits
- Use it in a way that breaks the law where you are
9. Intellectual property
Plyplan, its name, its design, its icon and its code are ours and stay ours. Apple, App Store, Google, Google Play and Google Drive are trademarks of their respective owners; we are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of them.
10. Third-party services
Purchases go through Apple, Google, Stripe and RevenueCat; accounts through Supabase and, if you choose them, Sign in with Apple or Google. Your use of those is governed by their terms, and we are not responsible for their availability. If one of them is down, the rest of the app still works.
11. No warranty
Plyplan is provided "as is". We do not warrant that it is free of defects, that a layout is optimal, or that it fits any particular project. Nothing in this section limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law permits, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, lost material, lost time or lost data arising from your use of Plyplan. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim.
This does not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under Swiss or your local mandatory law.
13. Ending the agreement
You end it by deleting the app. We may stop distributing or updating Plyplan, in which case the version you have installed keeps working for as long as your device supports it. Sections 3, 7, 9, 11 and 12 survive.
14. Governing law
Swiss law applies, and the courts of Switzerland have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, or of the right to bring a claim there.
15. Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. A material change will be noted in the release notes of the version that introduces it. Continuing to use Plyplan after that means you accept the new terms.
